To all of you who have been praying about our search for pterosaurs your prayers have been answered in a positive way! I am a pretty skeptical person and sometimes I don't believe what my own eyes are telling me. It is a little like it was when Duane Hodgkinson and his co-pilot went down on a remote island in Papua New Guinea in world war II with engine trouble. While out in the bush, a little ways inland, they had a pterosaur fly over them that had a wing span of about 30 feet. They dropped down to the ground as it flew out away from them. It turned around in the sky and made another pass at them, this time much slower and much closer. After it went over the second time Duane turned to his co-pilot and said, "do you know what that was?, that was a pterosaur!". His co-pilot said glibly, "it can't be, they went extinct 60 million years ago!" That's a case of someone letting evolutionists with an agenda over-ride what he saw with his own two eyes.
A year ago I saw a flash in a tree that was totally unexplainable except as a pterosaur. The natives of Papua New Guinea have told people for decades that the pterosaurs they see give off light and they do it in several ways. One of the ways is by a flash. The only other creatures that have bioluminescence are some fish and some insects. By the way, I remember as a kid observing fire flies and they did not light up the area around them. I remember smashing them sometimes and you could smear the light around but it still did not light up the area around it.
Last week Pete Beach and I went to the same location that we were at last year when we saw the flash. Pete had been there earlier in the summer this year and while there had been surprised by some very large creature that flew up from below them and then over them that had a very large wing span. He suspected it might have been a pterosaur. This time we went with a shot gun, thinking the same thing might happen and we figured that by any means we wanted to get one of these creatures. We would have preferred wounding it rather than killing it.
Nothing like that flew over but we saw something even more remarkable. About midnight, while gazing at the opposite bank of the river, a bright light came on about 75 yards downstream from us, creating about what a 200 watt bulb would produce. The source it was emanating from seemed to be about 8 to 12 inches in diameter and round. As I'm incredulously looking at this light I'm thinking, "OK that should be producing enough light that I can see what this creature looks like". But I could not see anything but the light. It didn't light up anything around it. The light came on for a few seconds, and then went off. A few seconds later it came on again for a few seconds, then went off. Altogether, this happened about four times. There were no other people around and the other side of the river is inaccessible by land.
The next day we bought a cheap raft and I went across to the other side and explored the terrain above the riverbank. I went about a half mile up to the top of a hill that was maybe about 500 feet above the river, While there I saw large blocks of basalt that had fallen against each other creating perfect habitat for a creature to live in under them. Those blocks were near the top of the hill, perfect for viewing down the river for large flying predators. Speaking of the river, it is full of fish of all sizes. It even has fresh water seaweed growing near the shores. It is said that pterosaurs favorite food is fish.
A few days later, Matthew Speights, growing tired of inactivity at another site, decided to check out our site. He didn't see anything, but heard a sound that was identical to the sounds that he had heard at the other site that they figured were the sounds of a pterosaur, since they didn't match any known bird sound.
I now have to conclude that we definitely do have a living pterosaur, or maybe several, at the site we have been observing for the last 14 months. The next question is, " how do we go about getting indisputable evidence?" These creatures have not remained unknown to modern science for no reason. Even though they sometimes produce light so that you can see them it is almost like they are teasing, saying, "see, I even show myself to you and you still can't catch me or even get me on film". In thinking about it however, if I had had a top quality night vision video camera the other night I would be showing you footage right now of a pterosaur. We were that close. So, we can either try to get footage or capture it or both. My thinking is that it is going to be easier to get the footage but the kind of equipment I am talking about seems to be very expensive so I am looking for more prayer support about this and maybe also some advice.
I will certainly update everyone when more information is gathered. Maybe that update will be that we finally have the evidence!
